Land Preservation, Parks and Recreation Plan (LPPRP)

The St. Mary’s County Government is seeking a consulting firm to update and furnish the County’s 2027 Land Preservation, Parks and Recreation Plan (LPPRP). The selected contractor will be responsible for creating the LPPRP, which serves as the County’s master plan for parkland acquisition, recreational program needs, and recreational facility development. The contractor will work under the general direction of the Deputy Director of Recreation & Parks Department and will interact frequently with the Project Team, including County representatives from various agencies. The contractor will provide project management, public outreach, and coordination with County and State agencies, key stakeholders, and residents. • The contractor will attend a kick-off meeting with the Recreation & Parks Project Team and provide a tour of the department’s assets. • The contractor will complete an initial evaluation, including a trends analysis, and provide a recommended workplan. • The contractor will develop a comprehensive Public Outreach and Engagement Plan, including at least 2 in-person input sessions and up to 2 virtual meetings, as well as an online survey tool. • The contractor will update current maps and develop any new maps, charts, and graphs needed to meet the requirements of the LPPRP. • The contractor will provide all drafts of the plan and the final version upon adoption by the Commissioners of St. Mary’s County.
