The Maryland Aviation Administration (MAA) is soliciting bids to provide liquid potassium acetate deicer fluid for runway and taxiway operations at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall (BWI) and Martin State (MTN) airports. The contract is a one‑year, “as‑needed” supply agreement with a 24‑hour lead‑time requirement after order receipt. Deliveries must be made in bulk truckloads (≈4,400 gal per load) to the airport’s secure storage area, with an escort provided by MAA personnel. The product must meet FAA‑approved SAE AMS 1435D specifications and a suite of ASTM corrosion and embrittlement standards, be at least 50 % potassium acetate by weight, non‑flammable, dark‑blue, and accompanied by extensive technical documentation (lab certifications, MSDS, toxicity and BOD reports, training materials, and references from four comparable U.S. airports). Bids are to be submitted electronically via eMMA; the lowest responsive, responsible bid will be awarded.
