Aircraft Fire Extinguisher Cartridges (MT20 or TY60)

The U.S. Army Contracting Command, Rock Island, is seeking sources for the production and delivery of Aircraft Fire Extinguisher Cartridges (MT20 or TY60). The cartridges are used in various aircraft to extinguish fires. Interested companies must provide information on their capabilities, experience, and capacity to produce the cartridges. The company must also demonstrate their ability to obtain the necessary skills and equipment to support quality production limitations. • The MT20 CCU-125/A Fire Extinguisher Cartridge is used to release fire-extinguishing agent into the area surrounding an aircraft engine and auxiliary power unit in the event of a fire. • The TY60 punctures a closure disk to dispense fire suppressant into the engine nacelles and auxiliary power units of USAF UH-1N and US Army CH-47 series helicopters during an emergency. • The manufacture of these items requires skills, including propellant manufacturing and casting, energetic material and/or explosive handling and loading, welding, machining, bridge wire and electrical circuitry, and shock wave propagation.
