The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is seeking a vendor to provide Food Safety Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) Systems. The systems must be capable of detecting a minimum of six distinct targets simultaneously within a single reaction and have a minimum dynamic range of 10 logs. The contract will be a firm-fixed-price indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract with a base and four one-year option years. The FDA estimates that it will need 20 systems in the base year and 15 systems in each of the four option years. The systems will be used in various FDA laboratories across the country.
• The systems must be newly manufactured and compatible with current validated Applied Biosystems 7500 Fast Real-Time PCR System assays.
• The systems must have a minimum of 6 decoupled excitation and emission filter channels and be capable of detecting target quantity differences as low as 1.5-fold in singleplex reactions.
• The systems must have a thermal block with a sample format of 96-well, 0.1ml reaction block configuration and be capable of partitioning the block into six independent temperature control zones.
• The systems must have a user interface with a minimum 8.5-inch interactive touchscreen interface display and pre-optimized, simplified protocol templates for standard applications.
