Description
This solicitation calls for the complete replacement of a backup generator at the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Birmingham Post facility. The contractor must remove the existing 18‑20 kW propane‑fuel generator, pour a new concrete pad, relocate the propane tank, construct an 8‑ft‑tall fenced enclosure with barbed wire, install a new generator with an automatic transfer switch, perform all necessary electrical connections, and conduct thorough testing and training. The work must be performed during normal business hours (8 a.m.‑5 p.m., Mon‑Fri) and the contractor must hold appropriate Alabama licenses (general contractor, electrical, plumbing/gas fitting) and maintain a minimum of $2 M general liability insurance.
• Removal of existing generator and disposal, concrete slab preparation, fence construction, and propane tank relocation.
• Installation of a new 18‑20 kW propane generator and a NEMA‑rated automatic transfer switch, including all electrical wiring, grounding, and connection to building systems.
• System testing, final walkthrough approval, and training of ALEA personnel; warranty of five years on equipment.
