Description
The County of Bedford is seeking a qualified contractor to design, remove existing Halon systems, and install a Victaulic Vortex™ hybrid fire‑extinguishing system in the Administration Building and the Sheriff/Emergency Communications Building. The work includes full engineering design, procurement of all materials, removal and disposal of legacy equipment, installation of nitrogen‑water hybrid suppression, integration with the existing Simplex fire‑alarm panel, testing, training, and delivery of as‑built documentation and a spare‑parts cabinet. The contract requires a Virginia special‑hazard extinguishing‑systems license, NICET Level III/IV design and test personnel, and Victaulic‑certified installation supervisors, with a performance period of 90 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed.
• Remove existing Halon system and cap wet‑sprinkler heads in specified rooms.
• Install hybrid nitrogen‑water fire‑suppression system (Victaulic Vortex™) with full control, detection, and alarm integration per NFPA 770, 70, 72.
• Provide design calculations signed by a PE or NICET III/IV, perform testing, deliver 1‑year warranty, training, O&M manuals, and spare‑parts cabinet.
