Description

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is seeking a contractor to repair a damaged and degraded public boat ramp at the Port Louisa National Wildlife Refuge in Iowa. The project involves removing the existing concrete boat ramp and replacing it with a new one. The contractor will be responsible for demolishing the damaged concrete and rebar section, preparing the bedding for the new concrete, fabricating a form, and pouring new concrete. The project must be completed during a period of low river depth, and the contractor must coordinate with refuge staff to plan the work. The key requirements of the project include: • Demolishing and removing the damaged concrete and rebar section • Preparing the bedding for the new concrete • Fabricating a form for the new concrete • Pouring new concrete and imbedding traction bars to the surface • Coordinating with refuge staff to plan the work • Ensuring that equipment and materials are cleaned pre and post entry to the site to avoid the spread of invasive species • Minimizing rutting and other disturbances to refuge facilities and infrastructure

Budget estimate

$200,000 – $500,000

The budget for this project can be estimated based on the scope of work and the materials required. The project involves demolishing and removing a damaged concrete and rebar section, preparing the bedding for new concrete, fabricating a form, and pouring new concrete. The cost of materials, labor, and equipment will be significant. A rough estimate for this project could be between $200,000 and $500,000, considering the complexity of the project, the need for specialized equipment, and the requirement for coordination with refuge staff. The actual budget may vary depending on the contractor's bid and the final scope of work.
