Description
CalSTRS is seeking a single, senior‑level AI Delivery Lead to act as a technical project manager and AI implementation specialist. The individual will lead multiple AI/Generative‑AI projects, manage cross‑functional teams, develop project artifacts, and ensure alignment with CalSTRS’s AI governance, security, and compliance standards. The work is on‑site at the CalSTRS headquarters in West Sacramento, California, for up to 24 months (with a possible 24‑month extension) and is expected to average about 160 billable hours per month.
• Lead definition, planning, execution, and monitoring of AI‑related projects (scope, schedule, budget, risk, communication).
• Provide hands‑on AI/ML expertise (model lifecycle, prompt engineering, cloud AI services such as Azure OpenAI, AWS AI, Microsoft Copilot).
• Produce project deliverables (charters, schedules, risk logs, Agile backlogs, status reports) and drive AI adoption, change‑management, and knowledge transfer to CalSTRS staff.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and ensure compliance with CalSTRS information‑security and AI‑governance policies.
• Required qualifications include ≥10 years of project‑management experience, ≥2 years managing AI/ML projects, and a bachelor’s degree in a related field; all proposals must be submitted via the CalSTRS CMAS vehicle.
