Description

The National Institute on Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) and the NIH Blueprint Neurotherapeutics Network (BPN) are seeking information from qualified vendors to support the Medicinal Chemistry Support Program for Therapeutic Development (MCSP). The program requires a full-service, turn-key medicinal chemistry operation for the development of therapeutics, including project management and reporting, compound logistics, synthesis, computational chemistry, and in vitro ADMET studies. Vendors must demonstrate experience and capability to conduct 1-10 projects simultaneously in the three chemistry stages: exploratory, hit-to-lead, and lead optimization. Key aspects of the program include: • Medicinal chemistry services, including SAR analysis and design, synthesis, and in vitro ADMET studies • Project management and reporting • Compound logistics, including storage and shipping • Computational chemistry and Computer-Aided Drug Discovery (CADD) • Capability to rapidly scale up or down the number of staff dedicated to the MCSP contract • Experience and success in providing a flexible medicinal chemistry support program • Demonstrated capability for productive collaborations with organizations and researchers involved in therapeutic development

Budget estimate

$1,000,000 – $10,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate, as it is a Sources Sought notice and not a solicitation for proposals. However, based on the scope of the program, which includes medicinal chemistry services, project management, and compound logistics, the contract value could be substantial, possibly in the range of $1 million to $10 million per year, depending on the number of projects and the complexity of the work. The actual budget will depend on the vendor's proposal, the government's budget, and the terms of the contract. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the vendor's experience, the scope of work, and the government's funding availability.
