Description

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center’s Therapeutic Discovery Division is issuing an RFP to secure Contract Research Organizations (CROs) that can support the discovery and development of small‑molecule and biologic therapies for targeted cancer treatment. The work spans the full drug‑discovery pipeline, including medicinal chemistry synthesis, purification, analytical characterization, high‑throughput experimentation, ADME/PK studies, and related bio‑analytical services. The award will be based on “Best Value” criteria, with mandatory compliance to MD Anderson’s standard terms, HUB subcontracting requirements, and Texas state procurement statutes. • Required capabilities: small‑molecule synthesis (including chiral chemistry), biologic/ADC development, analytical services (LC‑MS, NMR, SFC), high‑throughput screening, in‑vitro ADME, in‑vivo PK across multiple species, and GLP/ regulatory‑grade bioanalysis. • Contract length: 5‑year base term with up to three optional 1‑year renewals; fixed‑price terms are requested. • Mandatory deliverables: weekly status reports, detailed experimental notebooks, SDF (V3000) compound registration files, and a HUB Subcontracting Plan (Rider 104) for contracts ≥ $100 k. • Pre‑proposal virtual meeting on 10 Nov 2026 (Zoom) – attendance highly recommended; RSVP required by 9 Nov 2026.

Budget estimate

$5,000,000 – $15,000,000

The solicitation does not disclose a contract ceiling; however, typical CRO contracts for multi‑year, multi‑disciplinary drug‑discovery services at a major academic cancer center range from several million to double‑digit millions of dollars. Assuming a 5‑year term with extensive medicinal chemistry, ADME/PK, and bio‑analytical components, a reasonable estimate is $5 million to $15 million total. Factors influencing the range include the scope of compounds to be synthesized, the volume of animal studies, and the level of fixed‑price versus cost‑plus pricing.
