Description
The United States Coast Guard Surface Force Logistics Center is seeking a contractor to provide parts and services for a hot oil flush of the Main Diesel Engine (MDE) on the USCGC MORRO BAY. The contractor will be required to provide a qualified mechanic familiar with the Fairbanks Morse Engine and related equipment, as well as all necessary equipment and materials for the flushing process. The scope of work includes pre-flushing preparations, flushing the MDE lube oil system, and system restoration. The contractor must also provide a work plan, ensure compliance with manufacturer's procedures and standards, and take precautions to prevent contamination of personnel and spaces.
Key aspects of the job include:
* Providing a qualified mechanic familiar with the Fairbanks Morse Engine and related equipment
* Providing all necessary equipment and materials for the flushing process
* Pre-flushing preparations, including blanking off bearing oil feed lines and disconnecting the lube oil cooler
* Flushing the MDE lube oil system, including external, internal, and combined external and internal flushes
* System restoration, including draining flushing oil, cleaning and inspecting the lube oil sump, and reinstalling engine filters
* Providing a work plan and ensuring compliance with manufacturer's procedures and standards
* Taking precautions to prevent contamination of personnel and spaces
