Liquid Oxygen (LOX) - Re-Bid

The City of Newport News is seeking bids from qualified firms to furnish Liquid Oxygen (LOX) on an as-needed basis. The contract will be for a term of one year with the option to renew for four additional one-year periods. The City requires the contractor to deliver LOX to two water treatment plants, with a total estimated annual quantity of 350,000 standard cubic feet. The contractor must meet certain specifications, including a minimum purity of 99.5% and compliance with American Water Works Association standards. The City also requires the contractor to maintain adequate liability insurance and to provide a warranty for the goods and services provided. • The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. • The contractor must deliver LOX within 48 hours for normal orders and within 24 hours for emergency orders. • The contractor must provide a complete set of Safety Data Sheets with the bid. • The City reserves the right to reject any bid and to waive any informality in the bidding process.
