Description
The City of Salina is seeking sealed‑bid contractors to design, demolish, and construct a new scale‑house facility at its municipal solid‑waste landfill. The work includes demolition of the existing building and truck scale, extensive earthwork, installation of utilities (water, sewer, storm drainage, power), construction of a new building with full architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, installation of two new truck scales with foundations, and comprehensive site improvements such as paving, curbs, sidewalks, fencing, signage, and erosion control. The contract will be awarded on a firm‑unit‑price basis and will require performance and payment bonds after award.
• Demolition of existing scale house and truck scale, removal and disposal of materials.
• Earthwork, grading, sub‑grade preparation, utility installation (HDPE drainage, PVC water/sewer, electrical service, generator).
• New scale‑house building construction with full MEP systems and two inbound/outbound truck scales.
• Site‑wide improvements: asphalt pavement (≈166,500 SF), concrete pads, curbs, sidewalks, drainage structures, signage, gates, fencing, and landscaping.
