Description
NYC Health + Hospitals is seeking law firms to provide comprehensive defense of high‑exposure medical malpractice claims, including representation of physicians covered under its captive insurer, regulatory assistance, risk‑management support, and in‑service training. The award will be a multi‑year contract (initial term four years with two optional one‑year extensions) and will be non‑exclusive, allowing multiple firms to be selected for “major defense” and “specialty” panels.
• Defend the System and its medical staff from claim filing through final disposition, including trial.
• Represent captive‑insured physicians in regulatory matters and coordinate with the System’s risk‑management and quality‑assurance programs.
• Provide legal assistance, consultation on regulatory issues, and conduct in‑service lectures; all work must comply with HIPAA, BAA, and the System’s security riders.
• Submit invoices via ResolveStar, adhere to net‑90 payment terms, and maintain $5 M professional‑liability coverage naming the System and the City of New York as additional insureds.
• Participate in a mandatory pre‑proposal conference (Nov 2, 2026) and comply with extensive documentation, questionnaire, and security‑checklist requirements.
