The County of San Luis Obispo sought statements of qualifications and proposals from experienced entities to implement the California Valley Land Acquisition Program. The program aims to permanently protect and manage important habitat for wildlife and plant species within the California Valley subdivision area and provide open-space connectivity between nearby protected properties. The County had approximately $1.5 million in existing funds to leverage for the program. Key aspects of the program include:
• Acquisition and maintenance of properties consistent with the CVLAP Strategic Plan
• Annual and periodic tasks, stewardship/management activities, and funding and reporting obligations
• Leveraging the County's ability to obtain parcels within California Valley through tax defaulted sales
The contract resulted in no award.
