Charles Street Sanitary Sewer Extension

The Rock River Water Reclamation District is procuring a sanitary‑sewer extension along Charles Street (Special Assessment #132). The scope includes installation of 315 LF of 8‑in. PVC SDR‑35 pipe, two new manholes (4‑ft and 5‑ft precast), replacement of existing 6‑in. service pipe, removal and replacement of storm‑sewer inlets, driveway pavement removal, new aggregate base, hot‑mix asphalt surface, and comprehensive erosion‑control measures (blanket, turf restoration, and traffic control). The contract is a fixed‑price public‑works award with a firm completion deadline of August 2 2019 and liquidated‑damage penalties of $300 per day for overruns. The awarded contractor is Northern Illinois Service Co.; all work must comply with Illinois EPA standards, ADA, OSHA, prevailing‑wage and other state regulations.
