The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection Office of Abandoned Mine Lands (WVDEP/AML) has awarded a contract to B&K Excavating LLC for the provision of Granulated Lime on an open-end basis. The contract is for a period of one year, with the option to renew for up to three successive one-year periods. The vendor is required to deliver Granulated Lime to various sites in Northern West Virginia, with prices ranging from $300.00 per ton for partial loads to $300.00 per ton for full loads. The contract includes provisions for payment, delivery, and returns, as well as requirements for vendor performance and default. Some key points include:
• The vendor must be able to deliver in remote areas where roads are passable, however, during inclement weather conditions, passage is sometimes difficult.
• Deliveries at some locations may require smaller trucks for access due to narrow or steep roads and/or limited turning capabilities.
• Contract items must be mechanically offloaded into water treatment silos.
• The vendor must have the ability to vacuum or otherwise dislodge lime from obstructing supply lines.
The contract also includes general terms and conditions, including provisions for contract term, renewal, and termination, as well as requirements for vendor compliance with laws and regulations.
