The purpose of the Early Care and Education Special Needs RFA is to offer families in Riverside County high-quality early childhood education programs for their children, 0 through 5 years of age, with developmental delays and/or disabilities who do not qualify for other resources. The program aims to facilitate the development of fundamental social and academic skills for learning and encourage children's progress towards the next level of development. Some key components of the program include collaborative partnerships with families, assessment, training, evidenced-based or promising practices curriculum, program structure, and sustainability. The target population includes children with identified disabilities or developmental delays, and those without an Individual Education Plan (IEP)/Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).
• The program will serve the cities of Corona, Moreno Valley, and Riverside, including the surrounding areas.
• The program will prioritize applications that include an "Inclusion" philosophy.
• Agencies applying for these funds must use evidenced-based or promising practices curricula and design a comprehensive program to meet the needs of individual children and their families.
• Income eligibility will not be required for participation in the early care and education special needs program.
• A child can participate in a program part-time or full-time, matching the available schedules of the early care and education special needs program.
