2023 Pacific Northwest Bay Watershed Education and Training

The Pacific Northwest Bay Watershed Education and Training (B-WET) program is an environmental education program that supports locally relevant, authentic experiential learning in the K-12 environment. The program provides Meaningful Watershed Educational Experiences (MWEEs) for students, related professional development for teachers, and helps to support regional education and environmental priorities in the Pacific Northwest. The program focuses on two priority areas: systemic classroom-integrated MWEEs that promote climate resilience and include high-quality teacher professional development, and MWEEs that incorporate Indigenous Traditional Ecological Knowledge and promote climate resilience. * The program is open to eligible applicants, including public and state-controlled institutions of higher education, Native American tribal governments, and nonprofits. * The program provides funding for projects that support MWEEs and teacher professional development. * The program aims to increase environmental literacy and promote environmental stewardship among students and teachers. * The program is managed by NOAA's Office of National Marine Sanctuaries and the Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary.
