Advancing the Centers of Excellence in Newcomer Health

The Centers for Disease Control - NCEZID is seeking to improve newcomer health outcomes by establishing multi-state domestic medical examination surveillance, developing clinician training and clinical tools, and implementing clinical consultation. This work will build on efforts started with the Centers of Excellence in Newcomer Health cooperative agreement. The funding opportunity aims to quickly and effectively identify infectious disease outbreaks, ensure efficient domestic medical screening, and assist with treatment of complex medical concerns. • The funding opportunity will support the establishment of a secure data repository of health information of recently arrived newcomers. • The funding opportunity will support the revision of health screening guidelines for these populations. • The funding opportunity will support the creation of an online tool to assist clinicians with the CDC health screening guidelines. • The funding opportunity will support the development of clinician training and clinical tools and resources. • The funding opportunity will support the implementation of clinical consultation to assist with treatment of complex medical concerns.
