The United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) is seeking a contractor to develop mathematical models for Dengue Virus (DENV) infection. The objective of the research project is to assist with a study of the potential impact of DENV infection on military readiness. The contractor will develop mathematical models that address the probability of infection given travel to specific places at specific times, the probability of apparent illness upon infection, and the duration and severity of that apparent illness. The contractor will also build a clinical pathway model that quantifies the probability of illness upon infection and integrate these models with the probability of apparent disease to provide a web-based tool that estimates the risk of illness for military personnel deployed to specific settings at specific times of year.
