Request for Proposals Timmons Blvd Sanitary Sewer Improvements Project

The City of Rapid City is seeking a qualified engineering firm to provide comprehensive professional services for the Timmons Blvd Sanitary Sewer Improvements Project (Project No. 2911 / CIP No. 51399). The work includes preliminary and final design, bidding assistance, and construction administration for the replacement of approximately 1,200 LF of 8‑ and 10‑inch sewer pipe with a larger‑diameter main, including alignment evaluation, utility coordination, and compliance with city, state, and federal design standards. The consultant will be interviewed after proposal submission, with design work anticipated for 2026‑2027 and construction slated for 2028. • Replace ~1,200 LF of existing 8”/10” sanitary sewer with a larger‑size main. • Evaluate optimal pipe size and alignment (existing vs. alternative). • Deliver preliminary design, final design, bidding support, and construction administration (tasks 1‑5). • Provide monthly progress reports, public outreach, utility coordination, and compliance documentation. • Follow City of Rapid City design criteria, SD Department of Agriculture & Natural Resources standards, and Ten States standards. • Interview shortlist scheduled for October 21, 2026; contract award expected after negotiations.
