Sonic Drilling

The Virginia Department of Energy is seeking sealed bids for sonic drilling services to support the Earth MRI Priority II Grant. Work will be performed at two mine locations in Virginia (Kyanite Mine Site and Crimora Mine Retreat). The contractor must provide drilling, core handling, material installation, and site restoration. • Bore 4‑inch x 6‑inch exploratory holes using sonic drilling equipment. • Supply and install bentonite chips and Portland cement for hole stabilization. • Furnish 14 wooden core boxes and handle core retrieval and disposal documentation. • Provide mobilization/demobilization, site restoration, and cleanup services.
