Representative Payee Services

The County of San Mateo is seeking a provider to deliver representative payee services to adults connected to the Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) or a BHRS contracted provider. The selected provider will be responsible for managing the financial affairs of clients, ensuring their basic needs are met, and providing support to help them achieve financial stability. The scope of work includes intake process, money management, budgeting, and reporting. The provider must demonstrate experience in delivering similar services, have a strong understanding of the population to be served, and be able to work collaboratively with stakeholders. Key aspects of the job include: • Providing representative payee services to adults with serious mental illness and/or substance use conditions • Managing client finances, including budgeting and paying bills • Developing a representative payee plan in collaboration with the client and case manager • Ensuring timely and appropriate payment of rent, utilities, and other essential needs • Maintaining accurate records and reporting to the County • Collaborating with stakeholders, including the County, BHRS, and other service providers
