Chollas View Improv 1

The City of San Diego is seeking qualified contractors to execute the first phase of the Chollas View Improvements project, which involves extensive utility and roadway upgrades in the Chollas View neighborhood. The work includes complete replacement of aging sewer mains, installation of new sewer lines, abandonment of obsolete pipe, comprehensive traffic‑control planning, pavement restoration, curb‑ramp construction, and associated storm‑water and environmental compliance requirements. The contract will be awarded on a lump‑sum basis with a total estimated value of roughly $4.67 million and a construction schedule of 168 working days. • Replace existing 8‑in, 10‑in, and 12‑in sewer mains (total ~1,137 LF) and install new 10‑in sewer main (~1,990 LF). • Abandon and remove ~671 LF of outdated 8‑in sewer pipe. • Provide full traffic‑control, detour, signage, and lane‑closure plans in accordance with Caltrans standards and the California MUTCD. • Perform pavement resurfacing, curb‑ramp upgrades, and related utility relocations. • Comply with prevailing‑wage rules, SLBE/ELBE participation (minimum 22.3 % combined), and required environmental and paleontological monitoring.
