Description

The National Park Service intends to award a task agreement under a previously competed master cooperative agreement for a project titled "Engaging Youth in National Park Conservation and Planning." The project aims to engage youth in national park conservation and planning through a fellowship program. The program will have two qualified participants who will take part in a 47-week-long program, supporting projects and locations where the Pacific West Region Park Planning and Environmental Compliance Program is conducting park plans and special studies. Key responsibilities include developing approaches to promote community engagement, preparing for and facilitating meetings, summarizing public input, and conducting research and site analysis. • The project will focus on engaging youth in park planning projects, including improving park infrastructure and expanding visitor access. • The fellowship program will provide opportunities for young adults to participate in the conservation of natural, cultural, and historical resources. • The National Park Service will provide guidance, supervision, and necessary equipment for the participants. • The project will support the DOI Secretary's priorities, including creating a conservation stewardship legacy and expanding access to outdoor recreation opportunities.
