This technical specification describes the requirements for the lease of on-track production equipment capable of supporting Metro-North Tie and Rail Production gangs with rail and tie replacement throughout Metro-North’s territory. All specifications noted within are “meets or exceeds”, and/or “MNR-approved equal”. The equipment shall meet and be equipped with all current Federal Safety Standards at the time of lease as outlined in Part 214 of Title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), specifically, Subpart D, On-Track Roadway Maintenance Machines and Hi- Rail Vehicles.
