Description

The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) intends to award a sole-source contract to Railinc Corporation to perform Predicted Signal Phase and Timing for Blocked Crossing Mitigation Phase 1. The project aims to support technology transfer of the FRA-developed C-V2X Predicted Signal Phase and Timing (SPaT) application. The primary goals of this phase 1 effort are to design, develop, test, and evaluate a cloud-based system that provides emergency communications centers (ECCs) with timely, predictive insight into grade crossing encumbrances. • The solution will use rail data assets, operational integrations, and enterprise cloud infrastructure to minimize technical risk, accelerate deployment, and establish a scalable foundation for future expansion. • Railinc Corp. is the only entity equipped to receive and process business competition sensitive data from US freight railroads to perform software-as-service functions. • The period of performance of the contract is 12 months from the date of award.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $2,000,000

The budget for this contract is not explicitly stated in the document. However, considering the scope of the project, which involves the development and testing of a cloud-based system, and the fact that it is a sole-source contract, the budget could be substantial. A possible estimate could be in the range of $500,000 to $2,000,000, depending on the complexity of the system, the number of personnel involved, and the duration of the project.
