The Brookhaven Science Associates, LLC (BSA) is seeking information from qualified organizations with demonstrated capabilities in the procurement, processing, surface treatment, and characterization of diamond film materials to support Brookhaven National Laboratory's research project LDRD-26-055. The anticipated effort includes the procurement of high-quality diamond film samples, precision thickness reduction, negative electron affinity surface treatment, materials characterization, and conditional surface doping and conductive coating. Respondents are requested to submit a brief Statement of Capabilities describing their organization's ability to perform the anticipated work.
• The work will evaluate diamond films as advanced functional materials for vacuum photodetector transmission dynodes and related high-performance applications.
• The project includes tasks such as procurement of diamond film samples, thickness reduction, negative electron affinity surface treatment, materials characterization, and conditional surface doping and conductive coating.
• The deliverables include two processed NEA-treated thin diamond samples and a technical summary report, including SEY measurements.
• The work will be performed during the remaining active period of project LDRD-26-055 (through September 2026).
