North Branch Hiker-Biker Trail

The North Branch Hiker-Biker Trail construction project involves building a 10-feet wide shared-use path within the North Branch of Rock Creek Stream Valley Park. The project includes grading, excavation, sediment and erosion control, demolition of excess pavement, storm drain construction, and other associated construction elements. Key aspects of the project include: * Construction of a 2.2 miles trail * Grading and excavation * Sediment and erosion control * Demolition of excess pavement * Storm drain construction * Bituminous paving and micro-piles installation * Elevated concrete trail and bridge installation This project is eligible for a reimbursable grant called the Transportation Alternates Program (TAP) issued by the U.S. Department of Transportation. The federal grant funds are administered by the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA).
