Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking information from sources that can provide an Extreme Thermal Cycling Chamber for accelerated aging experiments. The chamber should have a minimum temperature of -100°C, a maximum temperature of 200°C, and a cycling rate of at least 70°C/min. The chamber should also have a minimum interior volume of 12 cu. ft., accommodate multiple samples up to 300 mm in diameter, and have a side access port. The key features of the required Extreme Thermal Cycling Chamber include: • Size: minimum interior volume of 12 cu. ft., accommodate multiple samples up to 300 mm in diameter • Thermal cycling: minimum temperature of -100°C, maximum temperature of 200°C, cycling rate of at least 70°C/min • Side access port: located on the oven side, 2-4 inches in diameter, with a plug for access port when not in use • Adapters/hose: include all required adapters or hoses needed between external cooling/heating systems and thermal cycling chamber • Thermocouple: include all required thermocouples to ensure accurate temperature cycling of samples • Dedicated analysis system for data acquisition: Windows 11 PC and monitor, system control, operation, and datalogging • Multi-dewar connection kit: able to connect three LN2 dewars to manifold for rapid cooling • O2 monitor and portable data acquisition unit: minimum of 16 channels for thermal data The information received in response to this notice will be reviewed and considered for future solicitations.

Budget estimate

$200,000 – $500,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate, as the document does not provide a specific budget or pricing information. However, based on the complexity and specialized nature of the required Extreme Thermal Cycling Chamber, the cost could be substantial. A rough estimate could be in the range of $200,000 to $500,000, considering the cost of similar equipment and the customization required for this specific project. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the complexity of the chamber's design, the materials used, and the manufacturing process.
