CALDWELL PARK EXPANSION PROJECT

The City of Redding is soliciting bids for a comprehensive expansion of Caldwell Park. The scope includes demolition of an existing restroom, full‑depth asphalt replacement, construction of a new bike‑park plaza with parking, installation of site lighting around the skate park, bike park, and Sacramento River Trail, and limited landscape and irrigation improvements. Additional work covers utility relocation, grading, storm‑water pollution prevention, fencing, site furnishings, and construction of a prefabricated restroom and ancillary structures. • Heavy civil works: demolition, earthwork, utility relocation, and asphalt/concrete paving (≈ 200 tons asphalt replacement, 22,355 sf auto parking, 10,080 sf truck aisle). • Site amenities: new bike‑park plaza, lighting, restroom, shade structures, benches, bike‑racks, drinking fountains, and fencing. • Environmental controls: SWPPP, erosion‑control measures, water‑rate management, and sound‑control compliance. • Contract value range: $4.37 M–$5.18 M among four bidders, with a 180‑working‑day construction schedule.
