The National Park Service intends to award a task agreement under a previously competed or single source justified cooperative agreement for the Special Resource Studies Administrative History Reconnaissance project. The goal of this project is to conduct a reconnaissance of the available materials that document the history of the National Park Service's Special Resource Studies program in order to prepare a scope of work for a comprehensive administrative history. The project will result in a professionally drafted scope of work for the preparation of an administrative history, including oral history interviews with selected individuals knowledgeable about the history of the program and a review of National Park System Advisory Board deliberations regarding proposed new areas.
Key aspects of the project include:
• Conducting a reconnaissance of available materials documenting the history of the Special Resource Studies program
• Preparing a scope of work for a comprehensive administrative history
• Conducting oral history interviews with selected individuals
• Reviewing National Park System Advisory Board deliberations
• Providing a detailed annotated outline of the program's history
• Identifying gaps in existing records and recommending further oral history work
