Description
The Commonwealth of Kentucky’s Department of Military Affairs is seeking qualified contractors to replace the roof on the Harlan National Guard Armory. The existing SBS roofing system has reached the end of its service life and must be fully removed, including all edge metal, downspouts, scuppers, and associated flashings. The new roof will consist of a minimum 4.5‑inch polyisocyanurate rigid insulation layer topped with a new SBS cap and base sheet system. Existing metal decking is assumed sound; rooftop equipment and curbs will remain in place, though curbs may need raising to accommodate added insulation thickness. All sealants, backer rods, and new edge metal must be installed per specifications. Bids are to be submitted electronically through Kentucky’s e‑procurement portal; no hard‑copy bids will be accepted. An onsite pre‑bid meeting is scheduled for contractors who wish to view the site and ask questions.
