Fabrication and Furnishing of Granite Blocks for Bucklin Park

The City of Providence is seeking proposals for the fabrication and furnishing of granite blocks for use as seating in an outdoor classroom and within Bucklin Park Playground area. The selected vendor shall provide all materials, labor, equipment, and coordination necessary to supply granite block units as described in the solicitation. The project includes the fabrication and delivery of granite blocks with specific dimensions and finishes. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Proposals will be evaluated on the following criteria: Material Quality and Compliance, Experience and References, Pricing, Delivery Timeline, and Local or Certified Vendor Preference. • The granite blocks must be made of locally sourced or regionally available granite consistent in appearance with Rhode Island or New England gray granite. • The blocks must have a uniform medium gray tone with no significant veining, spotting, or discoloration. • The exposed faces of the blocks must have a rock face and sandblast finish, while the top seating surface must have a sandblast finish. • The blocks must have a 1/2” radius edge with a sandblast finish. • The vendor must provide mockups or representative samples upon request. • The vendor must package and protect the blocks to prevent damage during shipping and handling. • The City reserves the right to reject damaged or nonconforming materials upon delivery.
