The National Park Service intends to award a cooperative agreement to the Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History Foundation for an archeological inventory, condition assessment, and data recovery project at Channel Islands National Park. The project aims to provide baseline data for archeological resources in targeted, highly vulnerable areas, and to document the effects of erosion on archeological sites. The project will include inventory, documentation, and condition assessments, as well as limited testing and data recovery. The recipient will be responsible for carrying out the project, and the National Park Service will provide oversight and technical assistance.
• The project will be conducted over a period of approximately 3 years and 3 months, from September 20, 2019, to December 31, 2022.
• The recipient will be required to submit technical reports and other documentation, and to collaborate with the National Park Service on the project.
• The project will involve fieldwork, including four 8-day tours, and will require the participation of a Principal Investigator, tribal participants, and student/field assistants.
• The recipient will be responsible for ensuring that all records, data, and reports generated through the project adhere to confidentiality requirements and agency policies.
