The National Park Service intends to award a single source justified cooperative agreement to the National Council for Preservation Education (NCPE) for the NCPE interns at the Bureau of Reclamation project. The project aims to provide training opportunities to qualified undergraduate and graduate students in academic programs in historic preservation and related disciplines. The interns will work alongside NPS staff in the cultural resources and interpretation fields in different park units and offices throughout the nation. The project will support the NPS mandate of preserving the nation's heritage through work products associated with the training, and it will also support NCPE's goals and additional NPS mandate of improving and developing preservation education.
• The project will provide a stipend to the interns.
• The interns will be assigned sites according to their areas of expertise and the requirements of the site.
• The interns will have substantive assignments in their areas of study and work closely with NPS staff day-to-day.
• The project will support the DOI Secretary's priorities, but it does not directly align with any of the priorities.
