Just Say Yes to Fruits and Vegetables Stellar Farmers’ Markets – Nutrition Education and Obesity Prevention Grant Program

The New York State Department of Health intends to contract with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to implement the Just Say Yes to Fruits and Vegetables Stellar Farmers' Markets program. The program aims to provide nutrition education and obesity prevention services. The contract term is 6 months, from 10/1/2025 to 3/31/2026, and is 100% supported by federal SNAP-Ed funds. The final six-month budget period will support closeout activities and operation at partial capacity. • The contract is exempt from competitive procurement due to the termination of federal funding for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Nutrition Education (SNAP-Ed) projects. • The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is the sole source for this contract due to its unique qualifications. • The contract will support nutrition education and obesity prevention services in the counties of Bronx, Kings, New York, Queens, and Richmond.
