Description
The US Air Force is seeking a proposal for the development of a wireless communications network that can connect all members of the test team on an aircraft. The network should be self-contained, portable, and have a minimum range of 30 meters. It should also be able to support a minimum of 32 connected devices and have the ability to receive audio from the aircraft's existing intercom system. The contractor will be required to design and build two copies of the system, with the design retained for future options to build more copies. The contractor will also be required to travel to the 418th Flight Test Squadron to support troubleshooting or tuning of the system on the aircraft.
• The network should be self-powered via batteries for a minimum period of 30 minutes (60 minutes desired)
• The network should have the capability to be plugged into 115VAC "wall power" for the duration of the flight test
• The network should utilize commercial VOIP software such as TeamSpeak or Mumble
• The network should have the ability to receive version updates
• The contractor should provide all hardware and software design and specifications to support any required airworthiness and cybersecurity approvals
