Description

The United States Air Force (USAF) Counter small-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-sUAS) branch is requesting information regarding Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System technologies related to combatting small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) in Groups 1, 2, and 3. The system should be capable of taking track data/cues from sensors to laze targets and launch guided Hydra 70 APKWS rockets. The system must meet US government and TAA regulations on component origin and have sufficient test and reliability data. The system should be at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6 at minimum. • The system must be able to function effectively by integrating only minimum launcher and lazing/camera capability into existing government sensor and C2 systems. • The system must have sufficient mobility options and capabilities. • The system must have a reliable lazing/tracking methodology. • The system must be able to operate at night or in poor visibility. • The system must be able to engage multiple sUAS in a short period of time. The USAF is looking for industry offerings to evaluate and potentially form a future acquisition strategy and solicitation.

Budget estimate

$10,000,000 – $100,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate as it is a Request for Information (RFI) and not a solicitation for a specific contract. However, the development and production of a system that can launch guided Hydra 70 APKWS rockets could potentially be a high-value contract. The estimated budget could be in the range of $10 million to $100 million, depending on the scope of the project and the number of systems required. The factors that could influence the budget include the complexity of the system, the number of units required, and the level of testing and evaluation needed.
