The Rock Island Arsenal is seeking a contractor to provide an ambient weld ventilation system for Building 299. The system should be capable of handling 10 air exchanges per hour and include standalone filtering units installed on either side of the specified area. The system should also include an overarching control system responsible for diagnostics, controlling the cleaning cycles of the units, and more. The contractor will be responsible for providing all equipment, labor, and materials necessary for the installation and start-up of the system.
• The system should be designed to minimize the vertical footprint and focus on air changeover in the space rather than specific "in-booth" solutions.
• The system should include a self-cleaning filter, a 3HP motor/blower combination, and a temperature sensor that shuts down the unit in the event of overheating.
• The system should also include sensors to identify when the bin is full of particulate and a silencer to minimize ambient noise.
• The contractor should provide instruction in proper operation and maintenance of the equipment without additional cost to the government.
• The contractor should have a verifiable service/repair capability that meets or exceeds certain requirements, including being staffed by qualified personnel and having telephone access to service/repair personnel during normal working hours.
