The Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) is conducting market research to identify potential sources capable of providing Tactical Gap Crossing Systems (TGCS) in support of Fleet Marine Force (FMF) operations. The TGCS is envisioned as an expeditionary bridging capability that affords Marine forces an expedient and transportable means to overcome natural and man-made obstacles. The system must meet specific requirements, including a minimum Military Load Classification (MLC) of 40, a minimum roadway width of 3.6 meters, and a minimum span capability of 12 meters. The system must also be transportable, deployable, and recoverable by various means, including sea, rail, highway, and air transportation assets.
Some key features and requirements of the TGCS include:
• Military Load Classification (MLC) of at least 40
• Roadway width of at least 3.6 meters
• Span capability of at least 12 meters
• Transportability via various means, including sea, rail, highway, and air transportation assets
• Deployability and recoverability by various means, including Medium Tactical Vehicles and Light Tactical Vehicles
• Capability to be assessed for use and employed by an Engineer Squad
• Time to deploy/retrieve of within 15 minutes (threshold) and 5 minutes (objective)
The MCSC is seeking information from vendors on their capabilities to meet these requirements, including their experience with similar projects, their technical capabilities, and their pricing information.
