Description
The City of Philadelphia Water Department is seeking qualified contractors to replace (relay) a segment of water mains along Adams Avenue, from E. Wingohoching Street to a point 250 ft north of Unity Street. The work includes full excavation of the existing pipe, installation of new ductile‑iron and copper water distribution pipes, insertion of valves and fire hydrants, concrete curb and footway reconstruction, and associated traffic control and site restoration. The contract is anticipated to be a mid‑size public‑works project valued between $4 M and $5 M, with a mandatory bid‑processing fee and a series of compliance documents required prior to submission.
• Excavation, removal of existing mains, and installation of new DI and copper water pipes (various diameters).
• Installation of gate valves, fire hydrants, water‑service connections, and related fittings.
• Concrete work including curbs, footways, base courses, and Superpave paving.
• Required submission of bid bond, consent/authorization forms, demographic disclosures, and a $600 processing fee paid electronically.
