Description
The Ohio Department of Health is seeking a vendor to support the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) by maximizing the role of pharmacists and pharmacies in ensuring access to healthcare in rural Ohio. The selected vendor will engage in activities such as needs assessment, technical assistance, software and hardware provision, and workforce development to support the RHTP objective of improving the health of rural Ohioans. The vendor will also establish partnerships and a rural pharmacy advisory group to inform project work.
• Key goals of the program include making rural America healthy again, sustainable access, workforce development, innovative care, and technology innovation.
• The vendor will provide technical assistance, software, and hardware to enable pharmacy connectivity and pilot integration of community pharmacy workflow with state/regional Health Information Exchange (HIE).
• The vendor will also develop workflow best practices for care delivery, provide upskilling/workforce development for pharmacists and support staff, and participate in planning, technical assistance, and policy change activities.
• The project period is anticipated to be from 04/01/2026 to 06/30/2027, with optional renewal terms of up to 24 months.
