Benefit Consultant Services

The City of La Porte is seeking a benefit consultant to provide a full range of services related to the design, implementation, management, maintenance, and continuous improvement of their benefits programs. The consultant will be responsible for serving as a management consultant on all health plans, retirement plans, ancillary benefits, and other related employee benefit programs. The scope of services includes providing advice and assistance reviewing the City's Employee Benefits Program, assisting with procurement of the City's health insurance program and employee benefits, and assisting with negotiations and finalizing group applications and contractual arrangements with selected insurance providers. • The City employs approximately 425 full-time employees, 30 pre-65 retirees, and 110 Medicare supplemental participants. • The City is requesting assistance with the following coverage: Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Voluntary Supplemental Insurance, Vision, Section 125/Flex Spending, Basic Life & AD&D, Long-term Disability, Employee Assistance Program. • The consultant will be required to provide online enrollment services, including a secure employee online portal, customizable features, and dedicated online enrollment client advocate. • The consultant will also be responsible for providing ACA reporting, tracking on-going measurement periods, and notifications to the employer of newly eligible employees.
