The City of Asheville is seeking pre‑qualification of contractors for three distinct streetscape improvement projects focused on brick sidewalk replacement, curb work, ramps, tree work, and historic‑preservation elements within the downtown Central Business District and the Biltmore Village Historic District. Vendors must demonstrate capability to meet PROWAG accessibility standards, handle historic brick reuse, and manage large civil‑engineering scopes ranging from $1.1 M to $2.3 M per project. Separate pre‑qualification packages are required for each project, with a combined submission deadline of August 5, 2026.
• Project 1 – N. Lexington Avenue sidewalk restoration ($1.1 M) – 6‑month construction, brick‑paved, ADA‑compliant.
• Project 2 – Biltmore Village historic streetscape ($2.0–2.3 M) – 12‑month construction, historic brick reuse, granite curb work, tree replacement.
• Project 3 – S. Market & Eagle Street enhancements ($2.2 M) – 18‑month construction, curb realignment, storm‑water upgrades, historic markers, funded partially by Mellon Foundation grant.
• All work must comply with North Carolina public‑right‑of‑way accessibility guidelines and historic preservation standards; bonding, insurance, financial, safety, and HUB documentation are required.
