Abandoned Mine Reclamation Project – Slabtown Far North, Armstrong County, PA

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection is seeking qualified contractors to perform an extensive abandoned mine reclamation project in the Slabtown Far North area of Boggs Township, Armstrong County. The work includes erosion and sediment control measures, clearing and grubbing, grading, pipe installation, channel excavation and lining, gas line relocation, and extensive planting and seeding. The contract is bid‑based, requires a 10 % bid bond, and includes a one‑year term (365 calendar days). • Erosion and sediment control (rock entrance, compost filter socks, weighted sediment filter tubes) • Large‑scale earthwork: clearing, grubbing, grading (401,000 CY), channel excavation (4,491 CY) and lining (11,223 SY) • Infrastructure installation: 12‑, 24‑, and 30‑inch pipe runs, gas line relocation, and extensive planting (20,536 tree seedlings, 1,113 lb grass seed) • Estimated contract amount: $1 M – $5 M; bid bond of 10 % required; term 365 days
