The Edgewood & Golden Gate Septic‑to‑Sewer Project will replace roughly 130 existing septic systems in the Edgewood and Golden Gate neighborhoods of Wakulla County with a new municipal sanitary sewer network. The scope includes gravity‑flow sewer pipe, high‑pressure force mains, four lift stations, and full road and drainage restoration. Although originally budgeted at about $4.67 million and scheduled for a 335‑day substantial‑completion timeline, all bids have been withdrawn and the solicitation is currently paused pending scope revisions. • Scope: abandonment of ~130 septic systems; install 12,843 ft of 8‑in gravity pipe, 3,830 ft of 4‑in force main, and four lift stations; restore impacted roads. • Required capabilities: civil‑/water‑engineering, pipe and manhole installation, lift‑station construction, utility coordination, permitting, and road/storm‑water work. • Mandatory pre‑bid conference held July 23 2026; 5 % bid bond required for bids > $250 k; performance & payment bonds equal to 100 % of contract amount. • Original schedule demanded start within 5 days of notice to proceed and substantial completion within 335 days, with liquidated damages of $1,000–$2,000 per day for delays. • Current status: Addendum 5 (August 27 2026) withdrew all bids; rebidding will be announced later, dates TBD.
