Removal and Disposal of Substation Switchgear, RFP 2025-072

The City of Loveland is seeking a contractor to remove and dispose of a 12.47kV stacked metal-clad switchgear lineup. The project includes disassembly, removal, transportation, and disposal of the switchgear. The contractor will be responsible for ensuring all equipment is disposed of properly and adhering to applicable laws and regulations. The project is expected to start on March 9, 2026, and be completed by March 25, 2026. • The switchgear lineup consists of nine stacked units, each with approximate dimensions of 36”x100”x100”. • The switchgear lineup also contains twelve vacuum breakers and various relays that shall be removed along with the switchgear. • The contractor must provide and assume the cost of any tools, equipment, supplies, etc. required for disassembly. • The City will disconnect any electrical conductor connected to any element outside of the switchgear lineup prior to disassembly. • The contractor must ensure all personnel assigned to the project are qualified and trained to work in high-voltage environments.
