Design and Build Services for a Material Recovery Facility (MRF)

The City of Columbia is seeking a design-build contractor to provide design and construction services for a new Material Recovery Facility (MRF) at the Columbia Sanitary Landfill. The project includes the design and construction of a pre-engineered metal building, installation of equipment, and completion of all necessary construction work. The contractor will be responsible for conducting input meetings, site reviews, and design revisions. The project must be completed within the proposed calendar days, and the contractor will be subject to liquidated damages for delays. Key aspects of the project include: • Design and construction of a 26,000 sqft building with a 16,000 sqft processing area and a 10,000 sqft tipping floor/receiving area • Installation of an HVAC system, exhaust fans, and garage doors • Provision of a fire suppression system and heating equipment • Compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards, including those related to occupational safety, Americans with Disabilities Act, and environmental protection • Collaboration with the City to facilitate efficient and timely performance of services
